It was a true joy to make this recording. The Lord had been impressing upon us that we needed to create a devotional CD. In the hustle and bustle of our modern society, there is something very precious and powerful about being able to slow down and have quality, intimate time with our Creator.

Our goal with this recording was to make an audio experience that would inspire and enhance individuals’ quiet time with God. We wanted to create a musical atmosphere that would motivate and stimulate prayer, contemplation, and Bible study – a relationship with Jesus!

Another source of inspiration for us in the creating of this CD was the singers and musicians, themselves. This is the first recording coming from the Thunder School students (to learn about Thunder School go to www.harvestsound.com). It all sparked one morning when I heard David Stegeman and Sarah Macone leading worship on their instruments.

It was simply instrumental music, but I could feel such a strong presence of the Lord from the sounds flowing from the instruments. There was an extraordinary sense of peace and presence in the music that captured my attention. I approached them about creating a devotional CD… everyone was excited!

Our purpose was to create a musical experience that would promote intimacy with Jesus. We went ahead and laid down some musical atmospheres with the acoustic guitar and piano – they flowed together beautifully. Then I felt the Lord say that we were to sing “musical prayers” over top of these audio landscapes. We did not allow the singers to hear the music in advance because we felt it would be powerful for them to have an opportunity to spontaneously sing their prayers from the heart. This, too, was an intriguing experience. At times, I would encourage the singers with a very simple theme or a few words that they were to sing. They did a magnificent job. It all fell together in a way that we felt the Lord was orchestrating.

There’s a true sense of tranquility that permeates this CD, hence the title. This is the kind of perfect peace that only comes in the undisturbed presence of our Lord.

We pray that these simple songs and prayers will help draw you closer to our Lord Jesus Christ, His beautiful Holy Spirit and our everlasting Father.
