Singing and teaching at ThunderSchool last Friday was one of the great highlights of my year, and has been now for three years in a row. What an amazingly gifted and talented group of young people who are utterly committed to the call of God on their lives. They come from all over the country (and the world) to live, learn, and experience ministry for three solid months. They are musicians, artists, writers, dancers and missionaries who are finding out what it means to lay down their own lives for the lives of others.
What has made being asked to share my ministry and teaching with the ThunderSchool students each year so great is that what they are learning about, and just beginning to experience, are the very things that I have learned and experienced over my 15 years of music ministry. And with “experience being the great teacher”, mine has given me the ability to share with them from what I’ve learned and walked through myself – like: mission field work, prison ministry, music ministry, music production, and tour production and coordination.
